As promised, I want to share the step photos of my hybrid clipboard. I’d love to see any clipboards you might create, & would especially like to see them you post them as part of my GingerScraps Hybrid Challenge!

First I resized one of my digi papers and placed a cute bird embellishment on it. I placed my paper and two digital flowers on a sheet to be printed onto high resolution paper.

{Note: the digiscrap items I’ve used are in a new kit to be released this month}

I trimmed the printed items …

… then I adhered the paper to a 4 1/2" x 6" piece of stiff cardboard. I also inked & sanded the edges a bit for that lovely distressed look I just love!

From my papercrafting stash, I selected some coordinating flowers, buttons, & a binder clip.

I attached my binder clip at the top. Then, using some Glue Dots,I attached all my embellishments. I even added a small flower & some bling to my clip! Smile

All ready to go! Open-mouthed smile

Hi-Ho Trigger!

2011-06-28-22-35-05-GC-Bloo

Today I am trying something new. I’m playing along with the Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World’s blog! I really enjoyed the challenge of creating a card based simply on the inspiration of this week’s Trigger, which looks like this:

Here is how I was inspired by the original compared to how I applied the concept in my version:

yellow : yellow

doily : doily

color block : ribbon

vase with flowers : flowerpot with topiary

one-word sentiment : one-word sentiment (with lightened sentiment added)

sunshine : flower

Now for the supplies, breakout photos and simplified instructions …

create.inspire :: patriot birthday card

2011-06-27-10-32-11--GC-BP0

My love of papercrafting is life-long, and recently I’ve been re-bitten by the glue and scissors bug. Open-mouthed smile No doubt my Scrapbox has had a little something to do with it – being able to have my entire stash of supplies all tidy and organized has made it so much more enjoyable to create! This {masculine} patriot birthday card was something I created this week for one of my brothers who served in the Marines before becoming a doctor, and today I’m sharing the steps needed to make it - with photos, too! I hope to bring you these step-by-step projects on a regular basis, and will be listing them under “create.inspire” here on my blog! Since I am a notorious horder of craft supplies, some of my stash includes retired or discontinued products, but you can always substitute a little of what you have in your own stash! Smile
