Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a nice one with our son Aaron. We got to visit on the phone for a while with our son Justin while he waited for his “Adopt-a-Sailor” family to pick him up for Thanksgiving dinner. We got calls from a couple of my brothers, and had a few deputies stop in at different times to say hello and see how we were doing, and to get updates on Jim’s medical situation. We also watched the original “Miracle on 34th Street” as our traditional kick-off to the holiday season. Of course, I spent the entire day in the kitchen, but it was worth it to have such a nice meal and to have my husband pour out praise on me for all my work and for such a delicious meal. :D

Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, I’ve created a special new Timesaver Printables as a freebie for you! Our family has used something similar to this on numerous Thanksgiving Days as a way of getting everyone to share something they are thankful for. The instructions (included on the printable) are as follows:

Thanksgiving dinner table activity: Print & cut apart. Have each person write down what they are thankful for.
Each person can read their own aloud, draw them from a basket, or choose someone to read them all.

In order to make this printable sheet easily useable by more folks, I have made it an Adobe PDF file. Most folks have Adobe Reader on their computer and can easily open and print this. If you do not have the Reader, it can be downloaded for free at Adobe’s site here.

On Facebook this week Applebee’s Vets Page asked what does Veterans Day mean to you? Here is my response:

It means recognizing that men & women in the military have sacrificed much throughout the history of our country so that we may enjoy the freedoms our nation affords. It means their sacrifice has kept so many horrors of war away from our front door as they have so often gone out and fought our enemies before they could ever reach our shores. THANK YOU VETERANS & MILITARY SERVICEMEMBERS!!

Thank you to my brothers, Dale & Bryan, for their service in the Marines.

Thank you to my husband, Jim, for his service in the Navy.

And thank you to our son, Justin, for his current service in the Navy!
